Youm-e-Tashakur being observed across the country

Youm-e-Tashakur is being observed across the country to celebrate the successful defence of the country in Marka-i-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

The day began with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad, while 21-gun salutes took place in all provincial capitals. Special flag hoisting ceremonies were also held across the country, with PM Shehbaz Sharif hoisting the flag in Islamabad.

“Today Youm-e-Tashakur is being observed across the country to thank Allah Almighty for the magnificent success and victory of Pakistan against the open aggression and provocation of India,” he said.

Change of guard ceremonies will be held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. Floral wreathes will also be laid at memorials of martyrs.

A special ceremony will take place in Islamabad, where PM Shehbaz will be the chief guest. The chiefs of Army, Air Force and Navy will also be present.

Special prayers will also be offered across the country to mark the day of Thanksgiving. Rallies are also being organised across the country to mark the occasion.
