Intense clashes between security forces and militants in the Noorur area of Bannu resulted in the deaths of two militants.

The operation, based on intelligence reports, continues as security forces pursue remaining militants in the region.

The operation comes after multiple terror attacks in the area. In separate incidents, Dr. Syed Wali, the former general secretary of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) sub-division minister, was murdered in the Dragai area, and 11th-grade student Deen Wali was killed in his home in Jani Khel Noorung Khel.

Dr. Wali, who had relocated to Chashmai due to security concerns, was abducted and killed in his own empty house while visiting his ancestral home for work. Deen Wali, the son of a laborer, was shot in front of his mother.
