A joint operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Bannu police resulted in the death of two high-profile terrorists belonging to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group. The operation took place on Monday night on Domail Company Road in Bannu.

According to reports, intelligence indicated the presence of terrorists in the area. Following the tip-off, DIG Bannu Region, Sajjad Khan, ordered the CTD and Bannu police to launch an operation. A firefight ensued between police and the terrorists, lasting approximately 20 minutes. While two terrorists were killed, four to five others escaped under cover of darkness and vegetation.

The slain terrorists were identified as Hussain Ahmed, son of Balqiaz, and Inam, also known as Toro and Jihad Yar, son of Aziz Rahman, both residents of Haider Khel, North Waziristan. Both were wanted in at least eight serious cases related to terrorism.
