Assistant Commissioner Tump Hanif Noorzai, who was abducted from Turbat, Balochistan, three months ago, has been recovered and returned to Quetta aboard a special aircraft.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Kech, Bashir Barech, Noorzai was safely recovered on Wednesday night and arrived in Quetta on Thursday night on a special plane belonging to the Chief Minister of Balochistan. The Commissioner of Makran and other senior officials accompanied him on the flight.
Mr. Noorzai was abducted on June 4, 2025, by unidentified armed men while returning home after celebrating Eid holidays. His family, driver, and gunman were released unharmed; he was the sole target of the abduction. Responsibility for the kidnapping was claimed by an outlawed militant group.
Details surrounding the recovery have not yet been publicly released, but the successful operation is being attributed to the combined efforts of the district administration and law enforcement agencies.
