A targeted operation by Pakistani security forces in the Sar Banda area of Lal Qila Meidan, Dir district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulted in a fierce gun battle with terrorists. The operation, conducted on the basis of intelligence reports, left three terrorists dead.

Tragically, two security personnel also lost their lives in the exchange of fire.

A clearance operation is currently underway to search for potential terrorist hideouts in the area. A significant security force presence remains in the region, and authorities report that the situation is under control.

This incident comes amidst a reported surge in terrorist activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to a recent report, 605 terrorist incidents were recorded in the province during the first eight months of the year, resulting in the deaths of 138 civilians and injuries to 352 others.
