Unknown armed men abducted three Frontier Constabulary personnel from their houses in South Waziristan on Tuesday.

The officials were abducted from Spina Mela/Zangra in the jurisdiction of police station Ladha in upper South Waziristan. The officials have been taken to an unknown location.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan announced in December that a so-called deadline for police officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to leave their jobs had expired and instructed its militants to attack security officials.

The latest wave of attack against police officials that began after the TTP announcement has gone beyond attacking security officials on duty. Many police and FC officials have been attacked while returning from duty or even inside their homes. Several attacks have involved the homes of security officials being vandalized and looted.

The TTP’s police of attacking security officials in a variety of ways is aimed at dampening the morale of police and FC, who are the first line of defence against terrorist activities.
