The repatriation of Afghan refugees is ongoing

The process of Afghan refugees returning to their country is ongoing at the Torkham border crossing. According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department, 1,235 Afghans with PoR (Proof of Registration) cards returned to their homeland yesterday.

​In addition, 205 Afghans with ACC (Afghan Citizen Card) cards also travelled to Afghanistan yesterday.

​According to the Home Department, 532 Afghans without travel documents were also sent back to the country through Torkham.

​From August 1 to September 28, a total of 129,132 Afghans with PoR cards have returned to Afghanistan. In the same period, nearly 52,100 Afghans with ACC cards have also returned.

​On September 24, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti had also said that Afghans should be returned to their country with dignity. He added that Afghan children, women, and the elderly would not be subjected to any hardship and would be sent to their country in a good manner.
