Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited Balochistan on Saturday following a recent terrorist attack, offering funeral prayers for martyred soldiers and visiting the wounded at the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations, he was briefed on the security situation by senior officials, including the Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan.
The COAS delivered a strong message to those responsible for the attack. “Those acting as terrorist proxies of their foreign masters, who have mastered the art of double standards… are well known to us,” General Munir stated. “No matter what these so-called ‘frenemies’ may do, you will surely be defeated by the resilience of our proud nation and its Armed Forces. For the defence of our motherland and its people, we will definitely retaliate and ‘hunt you down,’ whenever required and wherever you may be.”
General Munir’s expressed his deep appreciation for the bravery of the soldiers, officers of the Army, Frontier Corps, and Law Enforcement Agencies involved in the counter-terrorism efforts.
“I commend the courage and determination of our valiant officers and soldiers,” the COAS said during his visit to the injured soldiers. “Their unwavering commitment to defending the country at all costs is truly inspiring.”
The COAS also reaffirmed the army’s commitment to supporting the provincial government in its efforts to foster peace, stability, and development in Balochistan. The visit served as a demonstration of the army’s resolve to secure the region and ensure the well-being of its citizens.
General Munir’s visit comes after 18 soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack in Kalat. In response, the military killed 23 terrorists in Kalat and Harnai.
