The Counter-Terrorism Department claimed on Thursday that two terrorists involved in the I-9 Police Station attack in Islamabad have been arrested.
The CTD arrested the terrorists, identified as Hamza and Rooman, in an operation in Mughal Market in Rawalpindi on the basis of an intelligence report.
Both terrorists are affiliates of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. Bomb-making equipment was also recovered from the terrorists.
A statement from the CTD added that the terrorists were in contact with an Afghanistan-based handler.
CTD has filed a case and began an investigation. The terrorists admitted to their involvement in firing a rocket at the police station.
On January 3, police had found a ‘mini-rocket’ outside the I-9 Police Station’s walls. However, no casualties had been reported in the incident.
