Three terrorists affiliated with Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in a two-hour-long gun battle in Kot Kashmir, in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the early hours of Monday, a policeman was shot dead when an exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists. After the incident, locals, along with the police, began pursuing the attackers and cornered them. The terrorists took refuge in a house, and the local militia and police surrounded the house.
A heavy exchange of firing was heard from the area, a peace militia member said that another Taliban affiliate had been killed in the gun battle.
According to police, three terrorists affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban were killed in the operation in which the police were aided by the local peace militia. One of the slain militants was identified as Chota Waseem, a local commander of the TTP.
