A scheduled round of talks between the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan have concluded, according to state media.

According to Pakistan Television News, the two DGs spoke on the hotline. Earlier reports had said that the call had been postponed from 12 am to 5 pm.

Indian media also confirmed that the round of talks had taken place, adding that the talks ended on a ‘positive note’.

“Indo-Pak DGMO-level talks conclude on a positive note. Both sides reaffirm commitment to the Ceasefire, vowing to maintain peace and stability along the LoC and IB,” Indian journalist Ranveer Singh Robin, wrote on X.

Both sides had agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday that brought end to hostilities that had led to missile strikes Pakistan in response to Indian strikes on several air bases in Pakistan.

India’s foreign secretary had claimed that Pakistan’s DG MO had requested the ceasefire. However, DG ISPR Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said on Sunday that India had been the first to place the request.

Both DGs had been scheduled to speak via hotline at 12 pm on Monday. However, the call was pushed to 5 pm.

Tensions had escalated between the two countries during the Pahalgam attack in which 26 tourists were killed. India had blamed Pakistan for the strikes, launching missiles on eight cities in Pakistan killing over 30 people. The strikes had been followed by drone attacks.

However, Pakistan responded with missile strikes on 26 military targets in India. This led to a ceasefire being brokered by United States with the involvement of several other countries including Saudi Arabia. US President Donald Trump had announced the ceasefire himself.
