According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night of September 26-27, following a tip-off about the presence of extremists. According to ISPR, these extremists belonged to “Fitna Al-Khawarij” and were described as an Indian-backed proxy.
ISPR stated that during the operation, security forces effectively targeted the militants’ hideout, resulting in the killing of 17 Indian-backed “Khawarij.” A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the possession of the killed extremists.
According to ISPR, these individuals were involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as in the murder of innocent civilians.
The ISPR statement also mentioned that a sanitization operation is underway in the area to eliminate any other Indian-backed “Khariji” elements.
The Security Forces of Pakistan reiterated their resolve to eradicate the menace of Indian-backed terrorism from the country.
