A high-level US delegation, headed by Eric Meyer, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the State Department, met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the visit followed Pakistan’s inaugural Mineral Investment Forum and focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for economic cooperation.

The US delegation expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s strategy to harness its significant untapped mineral resources through mutually beneficial partnerships.

Meyer highlighted the US administration’s prioritization of collaboration in this sector, emphasizing it as a key area of mutual interest. He also noted the positive trajectory of Pakistan’s investment climate.

ISPR added that the meeting gave an opportunity to both sides to ‘sharing perspective on global developments and Pakistan’s regional security imperatives.’ The meeting also discussed business to business connections in addition to current linkages.

Meyer also paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif earlier on Wednesday.
