In a major security incident, six soldiers of the Frontier Corps (FC) were martyred during a fierce gun battle with terrorists in Upper Orakzai’s Mamuzai area, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to security sources, the militants attacked a security post located in Hilki Kadda, triggering heavy exchange of fire that lasted for nearly two hours.
The martyred soldiers belonged to the 216 Wing of the Orakzai Scouts and were identified as:
- Havaldar Abdul Rehman
- Naik Azeem Shakoor
- Sepoy Imtiaz
- Sepoy Fayaz
- Sepoy Abdul Baseer
- Sepoy Kamil Shah
Six other soldiers were also injured in the clash and were quickly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Security forces retaliated strongly, killing multiple terrorists during the operation. A search operation is still underway in the area to clear out any remaining militants.
This deadly clash is part of an ongoing large-scale operation in Orakzai against terrorist elements. So far, around 40 terrorists have been eliminated in recent operations. However, the fight has come at a high cost, with 22 soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel, martyred in the line of duty.
Security forces remain committed to completely eradicating terrorism from the country, stating that the sacrifices made in defence of the homeland will not be in vain.
