He was seen off at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moqadam, Pakistani Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu, and other senior diplomatic officials.

During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif held meetings with Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. Discussions focused on strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations, particularly in trade and regional cooperation.

The meetings also addressed regional issues, with Iran’s efforts to promote peace during the recent India-Pakistan conflict receiving praise. Further discussions covered strengthening strategic ties between the two countries, as well as the need for an immediate end to the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the establishment of a lasting ceasefire.

Following his bilateral visit to Iran, Prime Minister Sharif will travel to Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Azerbaijani President. This marks the third leg of his four-nation tour, which will conclude with a visit to Tajikistan after Azerbaijan.
