Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on India to resolve all issues including Kashmir through dialogue and to shun the path of conflict.
Addressing frontline troops in the Pasrur Cantonment in Sialkot on Wednesday, PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan’s actions in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos had avenged the 1971 war. He also added that the entire nation had stood behind the troops as they attacked 26 targets in India.
While warning India that it would ‘lose everything’ if it tried to attack Pakistan again, PM Shehbaz also said that Pakistan was ready for both war and dialogue.
“Let us extinguish this fire. Let us sit together to talk on Kashmir and water,” he said.
“Water is our red line; don’t even think about diverting our water. Yes, water and blood do not flow together. You have also hit our Neelum-Jhelum water project. If the damage was severe, we could have destroyed your major dams, including Baglihar Dam,” he added.
Shehbaz also said that Pakistan had given India a befitting response over its aggression but had agreed to a ceasefire only in the interest of regional peace.
PM Shehbaz was given a briefing on the conduct of the battle and the current operational preparedness of the troops during his visit.
He was also accompanied by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Army Chief General Asim Munir and Air Chief Zaheer Babar.
Pakistan had launched Operation Bunyanum Marsoos in response to Indian missile attacks that martyred 40 civilians and 13 soldiers. Pakistan also down six Indian aircraft including three Rafales.
