The Flood Forecasting Division has issued a warning of severe flooding across Punjab and Sindh provinces, with multiple major rivers experiencing high to very high flood levels. Authorities are on high alert as the situation shows no immediate signs of improvement.

The Ravi River is experiencing high flood levels at Balloki (139,030 cusecs inflow/outflow) and Sidhnai (120,597 cusecs). Shahdara, closer to Lahore, is experiencing a medium flood (90,411 cusecs). Ganda Singh Wala in Kasur is under severe strain with a flow of 319,295 cusecs.

The Sutlej River at Sulemanki is also classified as high flood (135,832 cusecs inflow/outflow). The Chenab River is carrying massive volumes, with Trimmu Barrage recording a dangerous 543,579 cusecs. Head Punjnad shows a high flood level of 609,669 cusecs inflow/outflow.

The Indus River at Guddu Barrage is experiencing a medium flood (401,352 cusecs inflow, 377,226 cusecs outflow). Sukkur, a known choke point, is under low flood (338,050 cusecs inflow, 299,200 cusecs outflow), while Kotri further south is also experiencing strain (243,743 cusecs inflow, 231,763 cusecs outflow).

Flood Forecasting Division officials express concern that the relentless flow is putting significant pressure on riverbanks and embankments. Local administrations have been instructed to remain vigilant and prepared for continued high water levels.
