In response to the recent security situation and emerging threats in South Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police in Lower South Waziristan have increased the pace of search and strike operations.
According to local sources, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Tahir Shah Wazir visited several areas on Monday to review the effectiveness of the ongoing operations. He inspected security arrangements at various units, checkpoints, and police installations, expressing satisfaction with the force’s overall preparedness.
While speaking with police personnel, the DPO stressed that the current security environment demands utmost vigilance from every officer. He warned that even minor negligence could lead to serious consequences. He also inspected Police Lines, Sholam, surrounding neighbourhoods, streets, and all entry and exit points, directing officers to keep a close watch on any suspicious activity.
The DPO reviewed the surveillance system installed at checkpoints and the district office, instructing staff to keep all cameras operational at all times and to immediately report any unusual movement.
He further ordered personnel to ensure thorough and effective checking of all vehicles and individuals, emphasising the need to stay prepared for a swift and coordinated response in any emergency. DPO Muhammad Tahir Shah Wazir said that establishing lasting peace in the district requires modern technology, improved policing strategies, and community cooperation. He reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring sustainable peace in the district.
