On Monday, security forces carried out a major and successful counterterrorism operation in the Ghundik area of Lower South Waziristan, killing two militants. The operation was based on secret intelligence reports and executed with great professionalism by the forces.
According to sources, the security forces surrounded the entire area and targeted the militants’ hideout. After a heavy exchange of gunfire, two militants were killed, while several others were reportedly injured during the operation.
Security officials said that the killed militants were members of the banned group Fitna-tul-Khawarij and were planning to disturb peace and stability in the region.
Reaffirming their commitment to completely eliminate all anti-state elements, the security forces have launched a clearance operation in the area to ensure that no remaining terrorists can escape. The forces are also taking all measures to guarantee the safety and security of local residents.
