Security forces killed six terrorists in multiple operations in North Waziristan on Monday, including a highly wanted terrorist commander.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations, the first operation was conducted in Razmak, North Waziristan on the basis of an intelligence report. ISPR added that the terrorist hideout was effectively engaged, resulting in five terrorists being killed.

ISPR identified the terrorists as Khwarij, a name the government has used to refer to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan since last year.

According to ISPR, the second operation was conducted in South Waziristan, where a terrorists ‘ring leader’ Zabi Ullah alias Zakran was killed by security forces.

The terrorist “remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as in target killing of innocent civilians and was highly wanted by the Law Enforcement Agencies,” the ISPR said.

According to The Khorasan Diary, an Islamabad-based think tank and digital media outlet covering security and conflict, Zakran was wanted for 22 attacks. This included a terrorist attack in December 2024, where 17 soldiers were killed and 12 injured.

ISPR also said that a sanitization operation was carried out to find and apprehend any other terrorists remaining in the area.
