According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani security forces killed 23 militants linked to what ISPR described as an India-backed group, Fitna-ul-Khawarij, during two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 16 and 17 November 2025.

Major Operation in Bajaur

ISPR stated that security forces launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bajaur district after receiving information about the presence of militants. During the operation, troops targeted the militants’ hideout, killing 11 individuals, including their reported commander, Sajjad Abu Zar.

Additional Action in Bannu

ISPR added that another intelligence-based operation was carried out in Bannu district, where security forces killed 12 more militants.

Operations Continue Under Azm-e-Istihkam

According to ISPR, sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. The military spokesman said that under the government-approved Azm-e-Istihkam initiative, the counterterrorism efforts of security forces and law-enforcement agencies will continue with full intensity to eradicate what ISPR described as foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
