Section 144 imposed in South Waziristan, all movement restricted

A Section 144 order has been imposed across various areas and routes in South Waziristan Upper District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. The order, effective from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, facilitates the movement of security forces and the transportation of logistical supplies.

According to a notification issued by the Home Department, all movement within the district will be completely restricted during the Section 144 period. All markets and bazaars will remain closed. Travelers are advised to avoid traveling to South Waziristan Upper from Dera Ismail Khan and Tank.

Key routes closed under Section 144 include: Taudah China-Makin- Bibi Ragzai-Sararogh-Kotkai-Spin Kiai Ragzai to Nazar Khel route; Taudah China-Makin-Kanigarm-Sherongi to Spin Jamaat route; and the Tiarza to Torwam route.

The Home Department further instructed that any vehicle should stop 100 meters away upon sighting a security forces vehicle. However, travel is permitted in emergency situations with the permission of police or security forces and upon submission of identification.
