On the special directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and Inspector General Police Punjab, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ghazi Khan, Capt (R) Sajjad Hassan Khan, paid a detailed visit to Layyah district. During his visit, he actively participated in various public, educational, and institutional engagements, taking numerous steps to strengthen police-public relations.
The RPO held open courts in Tehsil Jaman Shah and Layyah city, where citizens presented their issues directly. Not only did he listen to their concerns with patience, but he also issued immediate instructions to the relevant officers for on-the-spot resolution. He appreciated DPO Layyah Muhammad Ali Waseem’s open-door policy and his efforts toward public welfare.
Praising the outstanding performance of Layyah police, the RPO stated that the recovery of stolen property worth millions in a short period was a remarkable achievement. Upon his arrival, he was presented with a grand guard of honour by a contingent at the Layyah Police Office.
During the visit, he addressed the students of the University of Layyah, highlighting the importance of law-abiding behaviour, awareness, and positive roles among the youth. Additionally, he held separate meetings with local political leaders, lawyers, traders’ associations, and members of the peace committee, further enhancing police engagement with diverse community segments.
The RPO also held an orderly room session where he heard the issues of police personnel and issued directives for their resolution. He pinned ranks to promoted officers and awarded certificates and prizes to those who demonstrated excellent performance.
Finally, accompanied by the DPO, the RPO planted a sapling in the lawn of the Police Office as part of an environmental protection campaign. He also visited City Police Station Layyah and Saddar Police Station Layyah to review the implementation of the SIPS system.
