A police checkpoint in Lal Qila Maidan, Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, came under attack by terrorists on Sunday night. The attack, which occurred around 9:15 PM, resulted in injuries to one police constable.

According to reports, members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij launched the assault. They reportedly threw hand grenades at the Gul Police Checkpoint (Aryaan Suri Paw) and opened fire with small arms from the direction of the Meena Cricket Ground.

Police and Elite Force personnel stationed at the checkpoint responded swiftly, engaging the attackers in an exchange of fire. Constable Alamgir of the Elite Police sustained injuries during the attack and was immediately transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Following the attack, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators.
