In a major development, Lakki Marwat police, in coordination with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), security forces, and the local peace committee, carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in the Chawarkhel area under the jurisdiction of Shehbaz Khel Police Station.

The operation was launched under the clear directives of DIG Bannu Region, Sajad Khan, and was led by District Police Officer (DPO) Lakki Marwat, Nazir Khan. According to police sources, the action was based on confirmed intelligence reports regarding the presence of suspected terrorists from the group Fitna Al-Khawarij.

As the forces raided the suspected hideouts, militants opened direct fire on the security personnel. The police and security forces responded with full bravery and returned fire effectively. In the exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed on the spot.

A search operation is still ongoing in the area to locate other accomplices and ensure the area is fully cleared of any remaining threats.

DIG Sajad Khan and DPO Nazir Khan expressed satisfaction over the successful operation. In a joint statement, they reaffirmed that Lakki Marwat police will not compromise on the writ of the state. They also stressed that operations against terrorists and disruptive elements, including Fitna Al-Khawarij, will continue with the same determination and resolve.
