Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s unjustified and illegitimate aggression against Iran, and has vowed to continue its moral and diplomatic support for its brother Islamic country.
Addressing a press briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office Spokesman Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan said that Israel’s attack on nuclear facilities are against international law. Khan added that the Iran was a signatory of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and had been complying with the IAEA.
Khan also said that Iran reserved the right to self-defence under international law. He also called upon the international community to stop Israel’s aggression against Iran.
The spokesman also said that Pakistan is working tirelessly to evacuate its citizens from Iran and 3,000 citizens have already been brought home. He added that Iranian authorities are cooperating in the evacuation efforts.
Separately, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar, during which he once again appreciated the solidarity shown by senior Pakistani officials and the people of Pakistan with the government and people of Iran, as well as their strong condemnation of the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran.
The Iranian foreign minister detailed the attacks carried out by the Zionist regime on public infrastructure, nuclear facilities, residential homes, hospitals and medical centers, and IRIB.
Dar reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance in condemning the military aggression of the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran and reaffirmed the full support of the government and people of Pakistan for Iran.
