Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan strongly condemns all forms of terrorism and firmly believes in a policy of non-interference in other countries’ affairs to promote global peace and stability.
He made these remarks during his keynote speech on the second and final day of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference held in Islamabad.
Importance of Parliamentary Diplomacy and Peaceful Solutions
In his address, Ishaq Dar highlighted the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy, especially in today’s changing global and regional environment. He said the world is going through a period of major transformation, and dialogue and communication among nations are the only paths toward peace, security, and development.
Dar acknowledged that terrorism is one of the biggest global challenges, and Pakistan itself has suffered from cross-border terrorism. However, he emphasized that Pakistan is committed to resolving all disputes through peaceful means.
Support from Iran and Turkey
Other international delegations also shared their views during the conference. Konstantin Kosachev, head of the Russian parliamentary delegation and chairman of the Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee, said that Russia condemns all forms of terrorism and recognizes the importance of such conferences in promoting shared global goals.
The heads of the Iranian and Turkish parliamentary delegations, Ali Nikzad and Ali Shahin, strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan. They assured that their countries would stand by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and work together to counter extremist activities. They also called for continued efforts to achieve lasting peace in Gaza.
Need for a Joint Global Strategy
Participants of the conference agreed that no single country can tackle global challenges alone. They emphasized the need for a joint strategy to peacefully resolve international conflicts.
Delegates acknowledged the crucial role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting peace and praised Pakistan for successfully organizing the conference.
