The 48-hour operation targeted two suspicious dhows in the Arabian Sea both unmarked and without any nationality.
According to the report, the first operation on October 18 led to the seizure of over two tons of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) valued at approximately $822 million. A few hours later, a second operation resulted in the confiscation of 350 kilograms of ICE worth $140 million and 50 kilograms of cocaine valued at $10 million, bringing the total seizure to $972 million.
All narcotics were tested and safely disposed of at sea.
Royal Saudi Naval Forces Commodore Fahad Aljoiad, Commander of CTF-150, praised the success, stating:
“PNS Yarmook has carried out one of the most successful narcotics seizures in CMF’s history a testament to the skill and cooperation of our multinational naval forces.”
Operation Al Masmak, launched on October 16, involved close coordination between the naval assets of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, France, Spain, and the United States, aimed at strengthening regional maritime security and stability.
CTF-150 continues its mission to deter and disrupt the illicit trafficking of weapons, narcotics, and other contraband across the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Gulf of Oman ensuring the safety of one of the world’s most vital maritime corridors.
