Pakistan denies India’s claim of attacks on Amritsar, other cities

at 7:25 PM

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan has exercised strategic restraint and has acted in accordance with international laws in face of repeated Indian provocation.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad on Thursday, Dar said India had issued a politically motivated statement claiming attacks on Indian military installations.

“It is a big lie,” Dar said.

He added India had attacked over two dozen places in Pakistan from Islamabad to Karachi in an effort to cover up its losses between May 6 and 7.

Dar said that India had concocted the story about attacks on Indian installations to justify its attacks on Pakistan.

“I tell the Pakistani people, do not worry, your armed forces are vigilant,” he added.

Dar also said that India had deliberately targeted Amritsar with three projectiles in order to blame Pakistan. He said that India wants to externalise its communal issues.

The Foreign Minister said that in consistent with its policies and its obligations to International law, Pakistan has never attempted to target civilians.

DG ISPR

DG ISPR Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that India had cooked up a fantastic story to claim that Pakistan had conducted strikes in its territory. He called the story one of ‘phantom defence’.

“It is the 21st century, every projectile leaves a digital trace,” he said. He added that India needs to come out of theatrics and cinema into a real world.

The DG added that India had fired projectiles towards Dinga in Punjab from Adampur, and deliberately targeted Amritsar as well. He also showed radar scans of the projectile’s trajectory.

“Anything that leaves is being monitored and taken out,” he added.

He also added that when Pakistan chose to respond, it will reverberate in the entire world. He added that Pakistan would not need the Indian media to find out.

Chaudhry also said that the number of drones shot down had risen to 29. He added that only one drone had its target, causing partial damage to some equipment.

He added that one drone had tried to strike a Sikh holy place in Nankana Sahib.

The DG said that India was showing signs of manufactured war hysteria, while Pakistan was calm as it was a battle hardened nation.
