Pakistan Condemns Afghan Aggression, Warns of Strong Response to Further Provocations – foreign Office

Pakistan has expressed deep concern over what it described as unwarranted aggression by the Afghan Taliban, along with groups identified as Fitna-e-Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on the night of October 11–12, 2025.

In a statement, Pakistan said that these unprovoked attacks were aimed at destabilizing the border region and went against the spirit of peaceful and cooperative relations between the two neighbouring countries.

Pakistan said it exercised its right of self-defence and successfully repelled the assaults along the border, inflicting heavy losses on the Taliban and their affiliated groups. The statement added that the targeted sites were being used to plan and facilitate terrorist attacks against Pakistan. Islamabad emphasized that every possible measure was taken to avoid civilian casualties and prevent collateral damage during its response.

The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan values dialogue and diplomacy and remains committed to maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with Afghanistan. However, Pakistan warned that it is closely monitoring the situation and that any further provocations will be met with a firm and decisive response.

Pakistan also rejected statements made by the Interim Afghan Foreign Minister in India, calling them baseless and misleading. Islamabad said these remarks were intended to divert attention from the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan. It reminded the Taliban regime that the UN Monitoring Team reports have already documented the continued activities of terrorist elements on Afghan soil.

“The fight against terrorism is a shared responsibility,” the statement said, urging the Taliban to fulfil its commitment of ensuring that Afghan territory is not used for terrorism against other countries.

Pakistan reiterated that it has repeatedly shared concerns about the presence of Fitna-e-Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan operating from Afghanistan, and expects the Taliban to take concrete and verifiable action against these groups.

Highlighting its long-standing support for the Afghan people, Pakistan noted that it has hosted around four million Afghan refugees for over four decades. The government said it would now regulate the presence of Afghan nationals in line with international laws and norms.

The statement concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s desire for a peaceful, stable, friendly, and prosperous Afghanistan, and urged the Taliban to act responsibly, honour its commitments, and work towards a representative government that truly serves the Afghan people.
