The Pakistan Army has successfully repelled several cross-border attacks by Afghan Taliban militants in the Spin Boldak area of Balochistan and the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attacks began early morning on October 15, 2025, when Afghan Taliban fighters launched cowardly assaults at four different locations near the Spin Boldak border.
In a statement released on Tuesday, ISPR said the Pakistani forces responded effectively to the aggression. The militants used divided villages on both sides of the border for their attacks, showing no concern for civilian lives.
The statement added that the Afghan Taliban destroyed the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate on their side of the border, clearly reflecting their disregard for trade cooperation and easement rights of the border tribes. During the clashes, 15 to 20 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed, and several others were injured. The security situation remains tense, with intelligence reports suggesting the gathering of more militants at staging points used by the Afghan Taliban and the banned group Fitna Al Khwarij, said ISPR.
The attacks in Spin Boldak were not isolated incidents. ISPR confirmed that on the night of October 14 and 15, Afghan Taliban and Fitna Al Khwarij fighters also attempted to target Pakistani border posts in the Kurram sector. These attacks were also successfully repelled by Pakistani forces. In retaliation, eight enemy posts, including six tanks, were destroyed. It is estimated that 25 to 30 enemy fighters were killed in these operations.
The ISPR strongly rejected accusations from the Afghan Taliban, who claimed that Pakistani forces initiated the aggression. The military called these claims “outrageous and blatant lies,” stating that no Pakistani posts or equipment were lost. ISPR emphasized that the Taliban regime’s propaganda can be easily disproven through basic fact-checking.
The Pakistan Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. “All acts of aggression against Pakistan will be responded to with full force,” the ISPR declared.
Earlier, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid had accused Pakistan of launching attacks inside Afghanistan’s Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province using light and heavy weapons. He claimed that the attacks resulted in 12 civilian deaths and over 100 injuries. These claims, however, have been denied by Pakistan’s military.
