Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir addressed the first Overseas Pakistanis Convention on Tuesday, delivering a powerful message of national unity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s progress.
He expressed deep admiration for the overseas Pakistani community, emphasizing that their contributions represent not “brain drain” but a significant “brain gain” for the nation.
The COAS highlighted the crucial role of overseas Pakistanis as ambassadors for their country, projecting its image positively across the globe. He urged them to share Pakistan’s history and the sacrifices of their forefathers with future generations, emphasizing the enduring spirit that led to the nation’s creation.
General Munir directly addressed those who attempt to undermine Pakistan, stating that a ‘handful of terrorists’ cannot determine the nation’s destiny. He asserted that even ten generations of terrorists could not damage Balochistan or Pakistan, emphasizing that Balochistan is an integral and vital part of Pakistan.
He underscored the importance of the strong bond between the Pakistani people and the army, stating that as long as this unity persists, the armed forces can overcome any challenge. He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s abundant resources and stressed the need for continuous appreciation of these blessings.
The COAS declared a collective commitment to removing any obstacles hindering Pakistan’s progress. He reminded overseas Pakistanis of their rich heritage, stemming from a superior society, ideology, and civilization. He emphasized that Pakistanis, as Muslims and citizens, will not be intimidated by adversity, highlighting the nation’s historical resilience in the face of challenges.
General Munir reiterated that Pakistan’s security is ensured by the unity of its people and its armed forces. He paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs, stating that their sacrifices are invaluable and will never be forgotten. He expressed a desire to see Pakistan achieve the vision envisioned by its founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The COAS concluded by urging overseas Pakistanis to hold their heads high, emphasizing their representation of a great and powerful nation. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to Kashmir, describing it as the lifeblood of the nation. He also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, stating that Pakistan’s heart beats with them.
