The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Home and Tribal Affairs Department announced on Tuesday that the repatriation of Afghan citizens through various border crossings in the province continues. A total of 2,491 individuals were returned to Afghanistan today via the Torkham border crossing alone, including 746 undocumented residents.
This brings the total number of Afghans repatriated through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to over 743,000 since the operation began. The breakdown includes 605,992 undocumented individuals, 89,467 Proof of Registration (PoR) cardholders, and 48,254 Afghan Citizen Card holders.
The Torkham border crossing saw the highest number of repatriations. Additionally, a further 30,694 Afghan nationals were returned from other provinces (Islamabad, Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan).
The KP Home and Tribal Affairs Department stated that the repatriation process is being overseen by provincial authorities and relevant agencies to ensure a legal and safe return for all those involved. All figures released are current as of September 8, 2025.
