Security forces conducted a major operation in the Sarwakai area of South Waziristan Upper, killing at least seven terrorists and wounding eight more, officials have confirmed. The operation targeted a compound where approximately 45 individuals were present.
According to The Khorasan Diary, an Islamabad-based news agency, officials identified several high-profile terrorists among the dead. These include Noor Muhammad, an Afghan quadcopter expert; Hamidullah, also known as Gud (langra), an IED expert; and Umar, a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) member active since 2009. Officials confirmed that Afghan commanders involved in subversive activities in Waziristan were also among those killed.
Residents reported intense aerial bombardment followed by a ground operation. The operation is being seen as evidence of Afghan terrorists and their facilitators working against peace in Waziristan and attempting to spread terrorism within Pakistan. Identification of the remaining bodies is ongoing.
