Nine soldiers, including captain, martyred in Washuk ambush

Nine Pakistani soldiers, including a captain, were martyred and six others wounded in an ambush in the Basima area of Washuk district, Balochistan, according to local sources.

The attack occurred late last night when a large group of armed assailants launched an assault on a main Pakistani army camp in Basima. The attack involved heavy gunfire and multiple explosions.

A Quick Response Force from the Pakistan Army’s 328 Brigade attempted to advance, but this contingent was also ambushed, resulting in the deaths of nine soldiers, including Captain Muhammad Asif.

Six soldiers sustained injuries in the attack. Further details regarding the attackers and the extent of the damage are still emerging.
