Pakistan Navy has revealed footage of an Indian P-8I aircraft as it tried to conduct surveillance of Pakistan’s waters.

The video shows the aircraft between the night of May 4 and 5. However, the Navy detected the plane early and tracked it during the entire course of its flight.

The P-8I is used by India for long-range, anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

The development comes a few days after Pakistan Air Force detected four Indian Rafale jets patrolling the skies over Indian-Occupied Kashmir. Timely action by the PAF forced the aircraft to withdraw.

Tensions have been heightened between Pakistan and India since the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists.

India blamed Pakistan for the attack and took a number of measures including an announcement that the Indus Waters Treaty would be held in abeyance. It also gave its forces operational freedom to act against Pakistan. In response Pakistan has conducted massive military strikes and test launched two weapon systems.
