NADRA Publishes Names of 872 Balochistan Residents, Orders Immediate Citizenship Verification

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has taken major action by publishing the names of 872 individuals from various districts of Balochistan in local newspapers. These individuals have been asked to visit NADRA offices immediately with their documents to verify their citizenship.

Officials said the 872 people are from the districts of Quetta, Pishin, Chaman, Killa Abdullah, Loralai, Ziarat, Nushki, Dalbandin, and Chaghi.

NADRA’s notice warned that anyone who fails to provide their documents within the given timeframe will not only have their ID card blocked but also risk having the CNICs of their entire family deactivated.

Sources say this operation is part of the government’s efforts to identify and remove illegal residents, especially Afghan refugees. Pakistan has accelerated the return of unregistered Afghan citizens, and NADRA has been tasked with preparing lists of people with suspicious citizenship.

NADRA officials stated that these individuals either hold dual citizenship or obtained Pakistani ID cards using fake documents. Their ID cards will remain suspended until the verification process is completed. The move is part of the government’s effort to ensure national security and maintain an accurate citizen database.
