Unknown armed men attacked the office of a local peace militia commander in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing seven people and injuring one.

According to local sources, the incident took place in the Dara Dariz area within the limits of Haved police station. The attackers targeted Qari Jaleel, who is a commander of the peace militia.

Soon after the attack, the situation in the area became tense, and security forces surrounded the entire locality. The deceased have been identified as Usama, Kamran, Muhammad Niaz, Waliullah, Sufyan, Nauman, and Safyan.

A man named Muhammad was injured in the attack and has been taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Some claims circulating on social media suggest that terrorists linked to a banned organization were behind the attack. The incident has further increased concerns about law and order in the region.
