Major Adnan Aslam laid to rest with honours, PM, COAS attend funeral

The funeral prayers for Major Adnan Aslam, an officer of the Pakistan Army, were held on Tuesday in Chaklala, Rawalpindi. Major Aslam succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after being critically wounded in a cowardly terrorist attack in Bannu on September 2nd.

The funeral was attended by a large number of mourners, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Defense Minister, the Information Minister, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and other high-ranking civilian and military officials, as well as the Major’s family and friends.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major Aslam displayed unwavering courage and outstanding leadership during the operation, personally leading his troops on the front lines. The ISPR stated that Major Aslam’s bravery and resilience thwarted the terrorists’ nefarious intentions.

Following the funeral prayers, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the fallen soldier, stating, “Today, we have lost a brave son of Pakistan. Major Adnan Aslam’s sacrifice will always be remembered. His courage, patriotism, and selflessness will forever live in the hearts of this nation.” The Prime Minister added that Major Aslam had upheld the finest traditions of Pakistan by sacrificing his life to protect the motherland.

The ISPR reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to the complete eradication of terrorism. Major Adnan Aslam will be laid to rest with full military honors in his hometown.
