A Quetta anti-terrorism court has granted a five-day physical remand of Mir Khan Lehri, a suspect arrested in connection with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army organization, to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for further investigation.
Lehri appeared in court today, where the CTD requested his remand to continue questioning. Sources reveal that the arrested suspect holds a law degree from the International Islamic University Islamabad and was working as a prosecutor in Balochistan.
Authorities allege that despite receiving a government salary, Lehri facilitated terrorists and engaged in anti-state activities. Investigators claim he was actively involved with the BLA and was a close associate of previously arrested suspect, Dr. Usman Qazi. The CTD will further interrogate Lehri to uncover his network and associates.
