KP Police Thwart Terror Bid in Hangu, One Terrorist Neutralised

Hangu Police successfully thwarted a terrorist attack attempt at a check post through a swift and courageous response, resulting in the death of one terrorist and the injury of a police official.

The incident occurred at the Bugto Police Check Post, Hangu, KP, located within the jurisdiction of the City Police Station. An armed terrorist suddenly opened fire on the post, injuring Constable Zafar Adnan, who was on duty. Displaying exemplary bravery and courage, the police personnel immediately returned fire, and in the ensuing heavy exchange of counterfire, the terrorist was neutralised and killed on the spot.

District Police Officer (DPO) Hangu, Khan Zeb Mohmand, confirmed the incident, stating that the injured police official, Constable Zafar Adnan, received immediate medical assistance before being transferred to Peshawar for further treatment.

DPO Mohmand reiterated the police force’s resolve, affirming that the force “will not rest until terrorism is completely eradicated” and remains fully prepared to foil the nefarious designs of elements hostile to peace.

He further disclosed that a series of targeted search operations is currently underway across various areas of Hangu following the recent bomb attack on SP Operations Asad Zubair. These operations aim to identify suspected hideouts and apprehend terrorist facilitators.

DPO Khan Zeb Mohmand highly commended the bravery of the police personnel, emphasizing that Hangu Police is ready to make every sacrifice necessary to protect the law and order of the district.
