The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police is continuing operations against militants across the province with at least three militants killed on Monday.
Ttwo militants were killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Bannu. These militants were involved in an attack on Police Constable Arman Khan.
Among the deceased was Hakimullah, alias Shoaib, the deputy emir of the Ibrahim Zarrar group, a known militant organization. The CTD Bannu police swiftly apprehended and eliminated the attackers within hours of the attack on Constable Khan.
Separately, in a timely response operation, Charsadda police killed a highly wanted militant, Javed Khan son of Muhammad Ikhtiar, a resident of Bannu. A hand grenade, pistol, prima cord, and safety fuses were recovered from the slain militant.
Javed Khan was wanted in multiple cases of murder, attempted murder, and targeted killings. He was present in the area to carry out further terrorist activities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed commended the excellent performance of the CTD Bannu Region, Bannu Police, and Charsadda Police personnel involved in these operations. He announced cash rewards for the officers involved.
