ISIS commander, wanted for Peshawar bombing, killed in Khyber

The body of Abdul Malik, a key commander of the banned ISIS group, has been discovered in Surghar, Tirah Valley, Khyber District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police report that Malik was shot dead.

Local police state that Malik, a member of a local tribe, was wanted by the government on multiple charges of terrorism and other crimes. Preliminary investigations suggest he was targeted by unknown assailants.

Police have taken custody of the body and launched an investigation into his murder, actively searching for the perpetrators.

Malik was a suspect in facilitating the devastating suicide attack on the Peshawar Police Lines Mosque, which resulted in 84 deaths and over 150 injuries.
