As the conflict between Iran and Israel intensifies, several fake claims have been made about possible Pakistani involvement either directly or through support to Iran.
One major fake news attributed by Indian media outlets such as NDTV, to Iranian general Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general and Iranian National Security Council member Mohsen Rezaei said that Pakistan would use nuclear weapons if Israel used them against Iran. However no such statement was made by the general and the video seems to be AI-generated.
Multiple news items also claimed that Pakistan had supplied hundreds of ballistic missiles to Iran to aid its attack on Israel. However, security sources have told multiple media outlets in Pakistan that such claims have no basis in reality. The sources have also dismissed claims about Iranian missiles being parked in Pakistan.
An AI-generated video showing US President Donald Trump has also emerged, showing the president purportedly saying that Pakistan has issued a warning to US and Israel. However, the video has been debunked by community notes on X.
False statements have also been attributed to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif about support to Iran against Israel. While Asif made a statement about expressing complete solidarity with Iran on every forum, the video has been presented without context to claim he offered military support.
