India distorting facts by claiming successful hits in Pakistan: FO

The Foreign Office vehemently rejected claims made by Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval regarding the success of Indian military strikes on May 7.

In a press briefing on Friday, spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan denounced Doval’s statements as “replete with distortions and misrepresentations,” accusing India of a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and violate international norms.

Khan stated that Doval’s boasting of military aggression against a sovereign nation constitutes a grave breach of the UN Charter and international law. He countered Doval’s claims by asserting that India’s actions resulted in the downing of six Indian fighter jets and significant damage to other military targets.

Furthermore, Khan highlighted the publicly known fact that the purported terrorist targets resulted in civilian casualties.

The spokesperson also said India was behind broader state-sponsored terrorism, not only targeting Pakistan but also extending globally, citing assassination attempts in Canada, the United States, and other countries. While declining to comment on reported threats by US President Donald Trump, Khan reiterated Pakistan’s strong ties with China, referring to the country as a “close friend” and “iron brother.”

He also affirmed Pakistan’s desire to maintain close relations with the US, expressing hope for a soon-to-be-signed trade agreement. The briefing concluded with Khan’s statement that Pakistan views past events, including US involvement in Afghanistan, as lessons for the future rather than obstacles.
