Gold prices shattered records to reach new highs in both local and international markets on Monday.
In Pakistan, gold prices per tola saw their biggest single-day gain ever, rising by Rs8,100.
The gain took the price of gold to Rs357,800, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The price of 10-gram gold also showed similar trends, increasing by Rs6,944 to reach Rs306,755.
In the international market, gold prices rose by $69 to reach an all-time high of $3,395 per ounce.
Experts say that the price of gold is rising due to global trade tensions.
Meanwhile, a buying spree at the Pakistan Stock Exchange caused the 100-index to go up by 1,300 points to reach 118,627.19 points.
