Students and parents of Girls Middle School Sararogha, South Waziristan, are staging protests against the Education Office Female, accusing it of neglect. They say the school operates with only three teachers, irregular attendance, and frequent staff transfers, leaving girls deprived of proper education.
Protesters allege that one teacher attends only five days a month, while unqualified proxy teachers with just primary-level education are sometimes hired for Rs10,000 to temporarily fill the gap. They stressed that girls must not be deprived of education, yet the Education Office Female seems determined to render the school dysfunctional. They further claimed that officials—including the DEO, Deputy DEO Sabira, SDO Afsana, and ADI Shakobana—transfer teachers almost every week, further destabilizing the school.
Parents and students said repeated appeals to the Education Office Female and Tehsil Chairman Ladha Haji Taj Malook have gone unanswered. They warned that their protest will continue until a headmaster and a complete teaching staff are appointed.
They also demanded that Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) funds, which remain unused, be properly allocated according to the rules for the improvement of the school.
