The funeral prayers of a police officer and two constables, who embraced martyrdom in Kohat, were offered on Sunday at Police Lines Kohat with full state honours and in a deeply mournful atmosphere. The martyrs were identified as SP Asad Zubair, Constable Kafayat, and Constable Atif.
A large number of people, including senior civil and military officials, political leaders, and local citizens, attended the funeral. Prominent attendees included Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Additional IG CTD Captain (Retd.) Jawad Qamar, Additional IG Special Branch Kashif Alam, Commissioner Kohat Muatism Billah, DIG Kohat Abbas Majid Marwat, DPO Kohat Dr. Zahidullah, DPO Hangu Khanzeb, Deputy Commissioners of Kohat and Hangu, MNAs Shehryar from Kohat and Yousaf Khan from Hangu, as well as Pakistan Army officers, soldiers, and the families of the martyrs.
After the funeral prayers, a smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour to the martyrs. Senior officials laid floral wreaths on the coffins and paid rich tributes to the fallen officers, calling them national heroes who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
SP Asad Zubair belonged to Kohat district, while Constable Atif and Constable Kafayat were residents of Hangu district. After the funeral, their bodies were sent to their native towns with full official protocol, where they were laid to rest with state honours.
