A fourth round of talks between the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and tribal elders is set to be held today in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Bajaur National Jirga (tribal council) has agreed to continue the dialogue process in an effort to find a lasting solution to the ongoing conflict. Sources indicate that the discussions will focus on restoring peace and establishing long-term stability in the region.

However, this positive development is overshadowed by reports of an attack on a police checkpost in the Dherah Kai area of Salarzai tehsil, also in Bajaur. The checkpost was reportedly completely destroyed. Local sources stated that no officers were present at the time of the attack, as the post had been vacant for the past seven months.

The identity of the attackers remains unknown. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
