Four operatives linked to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) have been arrested in Karachi in a major counter-intelligence operation, according to SSP Shoaib Memon.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, SSP Memon stated that the suspects were actively working for the Indian intelligence agency and were in direct communication with Indian Army’s Colonel Ranjit.

The arrests, conducted jointly by security agencies and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), resulted in the recovery of explosives, a vehicle, and weapons. SSP Memon revealed that the suspects, all residents of Sujawal district, were providing sensitive photographs and geotagged locations of military installations to their Indian handlers. He further disclosed that the individuals were fishermen and had crossed the Indian border over 20 times.

The four suspects are facing charges of anti-state activities and espionage. SSP Memon confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend any further accomplices involved in the network.

The arrests came on the same day after CTD Punjab announced it had arrested six people working for RAW in Punjab along with maps and explosives.
